"I would like to share my experience with Bie Insurance Agency-State Farm. I have an existing auto policy with them which I am very happy with. I recently requested to get a quote for my property insurance which I currently have with a different company. Jacqui Short promptly called me and thoroughly explained all of the different coverages, deductibles, & premium payments. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Within a couple of hours she emailed me three different options for coverage. Both the price and coverage were much better than I currently have. Needless to say, I will be switching over to them. "I was a State Farm customer for over 40 years with very few claims during that time. I remained loyal because of their reputation for being a “good neighbor” and standing by their customers. In July 2024, a rental vehicle I was using was damaged while legally parked, with the at-fault driver cited at the scene. I was not present at the time of the incident. At the time of the accident, I contacted State Farm and was advised to allow the at-fault party’s insurance (Amazon’s) to handle the claim, rather than going through my own policy and being responsible for a deductible. When this matter later resurfaced, I again contacted State Farm. They reviewed the situation and confirmed that I was not at fault and not financially responsible. I will say that the staff at my local agent’s office were kind, responsive, and professional throughout the process. However, despite that, the claim was ultimately declined, and I was later informed that State Farm would not take any further action, even after the matter was escalated to a collection attorney. I was advised to seek legal counsel on my own. As a result, I am now dealing directly with a collection agency for a claim where fault was clearly assigned to a third party and even my own insurer has acknowledged I am not responsible. What was most disappointing is that in situations like this, it is commonly understood that insurers may step in to resolve the matter and then pursue recovery from the responsible party. Instead, after decades of loyalty, I was left to handle the situation alone. In this case, State Farm was not a “good neighbor.” When it mattered most, I was left without meaningful support. I would encourage others to clearly understand what level of support they can expect—not just when purchasing a policy, but when a real issue arises."
